The CALO Woodland Scheme is a Social Enterprise.
It has a simple overarching aim: to help mitigate climate change.
The Scheme's primary focus is natural carbon lock-up through the planting of trees.
The Scheme's wider purpose is to encourage better understanding of the link between trees, the fuels we use, and the beneficial changes we can make to our lives to reduce our
carbon foot-print.
This will be delivered via an educational programme, initially aimed at future generations in our schools.
CALO is a purely private initiative, initially established to operate primarily in Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, but with potential to
expand countrywide.
Whilst we are focussed on the need to support the UK Government's target for increasing forestation, CALO has no connection whatsoever with any Government agency or QUANGO or, for that matter, any other existing woodland or forestry organisation.
